We finally had enough snow to go sledding this weekend. But boy was it cold!! Max and Jonathan went down two times and that was enough for Max. All of the snow blowing up into his face was a bit much for our little guy. He told us he was ready to go and starting crying when we were about half way to the car. Poor guy got so cold I don't think he knew what to do with himself. We went home and warmed up with some hot cocoa and a fire in the fireplace.

Max and I went over to my friend, Kendra's, to join her play date with some of her mom friends and boys. There were seven boys ranging from ages one to five. They played with all of Enzo's toys, ate pizza, then played a couple of games on the Wii. The dancing game was a big hit and a lot of fun to watch. The boys were so cute dancing with Dora.

At preschool on Tuesday Max was selected to bring Buddy home for a week. Each child in the class gets a turn to bring Buddy the Bear home with them. As parents we need to take photos of some of the adventures Buddy gets to go on and then we include them in a journal we fill out before the week is over. Max was so excited on Tuesday to bring Buddy home. He had dinner with us that night and watched Harry Potter with Max that evening by the fire. The next day they had a little more movie time on Max's portable DVD player. Stay tuned for more adventures with Buddy. I promise we did more than just watch movies this week!

My neighbor, Kim, has a friend who cuts hair and comes to her house to do it. So, Max, Joanne, and I headed over there on Monday to join in the hair cutting fun. Max received a much needed hair cut. Max sure did get spoiled this year! Santa dropped off a whole lotta gifts for our little boy. Max had a lot of fun opening all of his gifts and playing with some of his toys. I think he may have been a little overwhelmed with all of the new stuff he received. We had a great Christmas too. Thanks, Mom, for spending Christmas with us this year!

We had a wonderful celebration with the Trimble/Weeks side of the family the weekend before Christmas. We had a house full of our family and really enjoyed everyone's company. Santa came for a visit during Max's Christmas Party at school. The middle picture is the face Max made when Santa walked in...hilarious! Max wasn't shy at all and went right up when his name was called and shook Santa's hand and sat on his lap to tell him what he wanted for Christmas this year. Max also received a present! All the kids seemed to really enjoy their visit from Santa.

I had the honor of joining Max at his Christmas Party at school on Thursday. There were several different stations set up for the kids to do different activities. We had a great time. And the teachers were kind enough to bring in a chair for me to sit in so I could take it easy but still be a part of the fun. We had snacks, made chocolate covered pretzels, made a beautiful ornament and reindeer magnet, and also put together a necklace. All the parents also received a present from their kiddos. It was a real treat for all of us.

A Visit from Nana & Bibbon!

We had a great impromptu visit from Nana and Bibbon this past weekend. Max enjoyed reading books with Bibbon and playing games on Nana's Ipad. He also had a little adventure up to Owosso to visit with Otto for the day. This allowed Jonathan and I to go on a much needed date! It was a great weekend all around. Thanks for the visit, Lynn & Theron! We love you very much.

Max's First Day at his New Preschool

I was cleared to drop Max off for his first day of Preschool! We enrolled him in a new school closer to home. We also waited until I was 30 weeks along to get him started. I was so excited to be able to take him myself! Max was a little hesitant in the morning but settled in as soon as we arrived to his new class. His teachers said that he did great and that he fit right in with the other students. I could tell he had a great time by how excited he was when I picked him up. I'm so proud of him and this smooth transition. And we're relieved to have him back in school. (I also included a picture Max took of me. He's quite the budding photographer. And it's a rarity that I'm seen upright these days, so I wanted to document it.)

Max and Otto spent the weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Moeser. Judging from the pictures they had a great time. This was Max's first overnight without us. I was very nervous, but he did great. Tom and Rhonda sure showed the boys a good time. And they got to see Santa! It was obvious by how excited he was when he got home that he had a great time.

We threw a birthday party for Max at Jungle Java and invited several of his friends and family. I was unable to be there due to my bed rest stint, but I received updates throughout the party via text and photos. (Thank goodness for technology! whoot whoot!). Max had a great time celebrating with his pals and his family. Thank-you to all who were able to attend. You helped make it a very special celebration for Max.

Max turned three on November 18th. We're so proud of all our big boy has achieved this year: sharing, using the potty, washing his hands, using pedals on his tricycle, hitting a baseball, catching and throwing a football, saying "please", "thank-you", and "I'm sorry", saying "I love you", camping, sleeping in his big boy bed, flying on an airplane with ease, the list goes on. Max brings us so much joy and we're incredibly proud and fortunate to be his parents. We love our sunny boy!

Camden's 4th Birthday Party

Max spent last Tuesday with my neighbor Kim. He had a great time playing with her boys, Camden and Brady, as well as another neighbor's kid's, Joey and Sienna. Max had his bad hair cut corrected by one of Kim's friends (bottom pic is pre-fix). Phew! After playing at Kim's house everyone headed to McDonald's to celebrate Camden's 4th Birthday with some lunch and fun at the Playland. Thank-you Kim for taking such good care of my boy and adding to the fun in his life!

Max and Otto went trick or treating around the neighborhood with Jonathan, Melissa, and Brian. They were troopers considering how much they had to walk, but I think the candy was good motivation. Jonathan brought a chair outside for me to sit in so I could be a part of the fun by passing out candy. I did break the rules and get up for a quick minute so I could get a pic of Max on my phone. Other than that, I followed my "rest" protocol and remained off my feet for the night.

Jonathan and Max carved pumpkins on Saturday while I watched from the couch. I did drill holes in one of the small pumpkins so I could be a small part of the fun. Max was pretty excited to scoop out the insides and help his Daddy carve faces to make Jack O' Lanterns. After pumpkin carving, Jonathan took Max into downtown Milford for some trick or treating at a few of the local businesses. He said it was packed! But Max thoroughly enjoyed getting his nummies.

Papa's Visit

Jonathan's Papa was in town for a quick visit so we had a little celebration at our house. It was great to spend time with family and it was wonderful to see Papa. He seemed to have a good time and we enjoyed our visit with him. He lives in California so we truly cherish the time we get to spend with him. Thanks for the visit, Papa!!

The Royal Oak Fire Department opened their doors to our mom's group and gave our kiddos a tour. The firemen provided us with good information and did a great job making the kids comfortable. One of the men suited up in full attire to get the kids familiar with what a fireman would look like coming into your house during a fire. They talked a lot about not being afraid to approach the fireman and to know that they are there to help us. Max wasn't shy at all and enjoyed approaching the fireman to check out his equipment and to give him high fives. And he even took a try in the driver's seat!

A couple of weekends ago we met Otto, Melissa, and Brian for a lil bday celebration at Long's Farm and Cider Mill. Otto just turned three that week and we had a great time playing on all of the fun things they have at the farm. Everyone particularly enjoyed the bounce pillow. Our mom's group met at Domino's Farm (Ann Arbor area) for some fun with the animals and a hayride. Our get together landed on one of my mom's day's off so we had the fortunate gift of her company. Celebrating Five Years While in Bar Harbor

Our five year anniversary landed on the Friday we were in Maine. We were really excited to celebrate this special day in such a beautiful place. We left Max with Meme and Aha and headed back to Bar Harbor. We had lunch overlooking the harbor at Gaylans then headed to the Bar Harbor Inn for couple's massages (the large blueish/gray Inn pictured above). We both enjoyed an hour of pure relaxation and pampering. It was truly wonderful. After our pampering we walked along the Shore Path and soaked up views of the harbor. We took the path into town and by this time we were ready for another snack. So we headed to This Way Cafe for drinks and an appetizer. I was excited to enjoy a non-alcoholic beer with our lobster spring rolls and Jonathan had a delicious IPA. After recharging with a snack we continued to walk around town for an hour or two. Then we headed to Mache Bistro for an intimate dinner. Mache Bistro only has about ten tables and the food was outstanding. We had a fantastic celebration!

We topped off our adventures at Acadia with a visit to Bar Harbor. We started by buying Jonathan some new shorts. I'm not sure if you noticed the huge rip in the photo below. He ripped his pants climbing a rock at Sand Beach around 11am. We didn't get to Bar Harbor until 5ish and by then the rip was becoming a bit obscene. After replacing his shorts we went to dinner, walked around town, and enjoyed some ice cream and gelato. Max thoroughly enjoyed the "nummies" and we all had a wonderful day and night.

Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park

Cadillac Mountain provided us with great views from the highest point in the eastern US. The ridiculously large cruise ship you can see is anchored in Bar Harbor. It was really windy on the mountain, but we had a great time walking around and enjoying the big rock. It was the last site we stopped at during our visit to Acadia National Park. We simply ran out of time. We were bummed to have missed visiting Thunder Hole but we'll just keep that on our list for next time.

After our adventure at Sand Beach we headed over to the Jordan Pond House for lunch. This is by far one of the most beautiful views we've enjoyed while eating. We chowed on some popovers and soup while enjoying our surroundings. After eating, Max and Jonathan walked down the trail to the water and romped around while I sat and digested. I eventually joined them but I didn't have a lot walking in me after stuffing my face with delicious popovers and strawberry jelly. We highly recommend visiting the Jordan Pond House for popovers if you happen to be in Acadia National Park.

The three of us spent a day at Acadia National Park. We started our adventure with a visit to Sand Beach. The beach is composed of broken sea shells rather than the silica based sand we're familiar with in Michigan. It was a beautiful day and the water was freezing!

One of our outings included a trip to Blue Hill, the next town over from Sedgwick. Blue Hill is also where my Grandparents currently reside. The morning started out pretty foggy, but it cleared up before lunchtime. Max, Jonathan, and I enjoyed walking along the water, throwing rocks, and rescuing a rogue apple Max found. We also had a great time playing baseball.

Our Cottage in Maine

Here's a few pics of the cottage we stayed at last week in Sedgwick, Maine. The house was built in 1917 and provided our family with many great memories. We took a ton of pictures so I'll post a select bunch of them throughout the next week or so. We spent our time relaxing, exploring, and enjoying! It was very special for us to see Max with his Great Grandmother, Great Granddaddy, Great Aunt Babbs, Aunt Carol, Uncle George, Aunt Claudia, Uncle Andy, and Cousins Susan, Doug, and Avery. It was obvious that Max also enjoyed having this special time with his Grandparents, Aha and Meme, and his Uncle Bill (aka Uncle B). We all had a wonderful vacation! Many thanks to my Dad and Jacky for making this happen for us.

We had a great time at the Air Show on Sunday. Fortunately, we did not witness the tragedy that occurred (there was an accident during one of the stunts that resulted in a fatality). Max thought the aircraft flying overhead was spectacular and he also enjoyed seeing some of the aircraft up close. We waited in line to have him sit in one of the planes but he chickened out at the last minute. All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the VIP treatment we received thanks to Jonathan's Uncle Mark.

Max and I met a couple of my girlfriends at the beach on Belle Isle to celebrate my birthday last week. Max had a great time romping around in the Detroit River with his new friends, Oscar and Belen. Oscar is almost 5 yrs. old and enjoyed being the older kid in the pack. He was great at making up games for Max and him to enjoy. They chased each other with seaweed and swam after the little boat we brought. A good time was had by all.

We took an impromptu camping trip over to the west-side of the State this weekend. It was Max's first camping trip! And he did great. I was a little nervous about getting him to sleep in a tent, but he did awesome. Our little boy never ceases to amaze us.

Max, Jonathan, Sara Kaye and I partied at the Tiger's game yesterday. Max did a great job and lasted the entire game. Jonathan had to spend a lot of time walking around with him but he was a trooper. It was a hot day and we had great seats. And the Tiger's beat the Met's!

My neighbor, Kim, got a group of kids together to go see the movie Cars 2 today. We met at her house for some playtime in the morning, had lunch, then headed to the flick. This was Max's second time at the movie theater. He did a good job for a 2 1/2 year old! It required many snacks and a couple minor threats from his Mama, but we made through the whole thing. I was very proud of him.

Max had his last day of school last week. We came home with a bag full of goodies that included this photo. I was excited to receive such a wonderful way to remember his first year at "school". You can't tell by his expression, but he really enjoyed his time there. So much so, that Jonathan and I decided to sign him up for next year. And fortunately, I was able to get him in the same day as several of his friends from our mommies group! I'm really excited for Max to be able to continue with the program and I just love that he'll already know half the class.
